How are fees charged by ebay and paypal for penny auctions?
Ebay normally takes something like a 9% final value fee and I think paypal takes 3%-4% of whatever goes into your paypal account. How do they handle penny auctions? Do you get like 0.4 cents or how does that work?
When you do penny auctions for screen savers, etc how does ebay and paypal take their cut?
Ebay now has the free listings if your auction is under so it doesnt cost you to list but paypal takes 2.9% of transactions and ebay I believe takes 9%. If you sell an auction that ends at a penny how do they take their %?
I have a dress that is in 5 different sizes that I want to sell on ebay. It is the same exact dress except for the different sizes. Is it better to make 5 different auctions for all 5 sizes? Or is it better to just do one auction and say I have differnt sizes? How would that even work?? Has any one done this successfully. Can you tell me the most effective way to sell something like this?
Facebook.com – Become a Fan! Twitter.com – Follow Us! How much would you pay for one of Taylor Swift’s very own guitars, signed and everything? Think about and keep watching. Welcome back to Clevver TV, your place for everything Young Hollywood. I’m your host Dana Ward. So even though it’s been somewhat quiet on the homefront with Taylor Swift in recent days, we just got word that she’s made another charitable donation. This time around, the singer donated her Taylor 12-string acoustic guitar that had her favorite number 13 embellished on the instrument. She played on the guitar last year in Nashville at the We’re All for the Hall concert. So the auction with the Country Music Hall of Fame put the guitar online and brought in more than 16-thousand dollars. Very impressive. But I have an interesting question for you. I thought of this because Taylor reportedly only played this guitar for one performance so it’s pretty much new. Would you be willing to dish out more cash for a one-time-used guitar or for a guitar that had really been played by the artist? I mean, what are you paying for? Let us know your thoughts and remember to subscribe on our Clevver TV YouTube page. I’m Dana Ward at our Beverly Hills studio, thanks for watching!
There are several “pay to bid” auction sites out there these days. What is the best way to score the items on those sites? Here’s a link describing the sort of auction going on at these sites and why it’s a loser for everyone involved but the company running the auction: en.wikipedia.org Also notice that the structure of wins/losses on these auctions are similar to that of a lottery, bingo, or a poker tournament: one person wins and everyone else loses. So why is the payoff so much less for the winner than in a lottery or bingo? Because the company is keeping all the extra money. The odds to win are no better than a lottery but the payoff is WAY less! The risk/reward here is so poor on these auctions you should think twice before participating.
